A Little Bit About Us

I started my quilting journey in 2020, a year that brought both challenges and inspiration. During that time, I was diagnosed with cancer, and Diamond, my loyal dapple dachshund, became an even more constant source of comfort and strength. Quilting became both a creative outlet and a form of healing, my amazing husband along with our seven wonderful children inspired me every step of the way with their love and encouragement. Each quilt I make carries a piece of that journey—woven with resilience, warmth, and the joy of family.

My business, Doxy Dime Designs, comes from a place of deep love and inspiration for my beloved dapple dachshund, Diamond, who has since passed. She brought so much joy, creativity, and light into my life, and I wanted to honor her memory in a meaningful way. The name “Doxy Dime” is a tribute to her—“Doxy” being a nickname for dachshunds and “Dime” lovingly referencing Diamond. Every piece I create carries a little bit of her spirit, and this business is my way of keeping her memory alive through design and heartfelt craftsmanship.

What began as a healing outlet through quilting in 2020—fueled by the need to refocus and not concentrate on my diagnosis, with my dachshund Diamond right beside me every step of the way. My outlet quickly became something more. As I experimented with different designs and fabrics, I found myself drawn to creating quilted all-purpose bags, “Doxy Boxy Bags”, that were both beautiful and functional. This naturally evolved, with a few additions to the line, like repurposing old blue jeans into durable, one-of-a-kind tote bags, combining creativity with sustainability. Just like my quilts, each bag carries a story of resilience, love, and transformation—reminders of how something strong and meaningful can come from life’s most difficult seasons.
